Cool Speaker Modification

Cool Speaker Modification
This is how to turn a old portable DVD player and a speaker into a tv ( I say a tv but its technically a screen with RGB input) now please be 'nice' as this is my first Instructable and i am entering it into the art of sound contest so please vote! any comments would be appreciated

You will need:

a old speaker ( big enough to fit your portable DVD player into)
a portable DVD player with a line in cable
sticky back plastic with a colour or pattern on it
screw drivers (of different sizes for the different screws)
a drill
a jigsaw or hacksaw (jigsaw will give a neater cut)
scissors
white board marker
hot melt glue gun and sticks
Stanley knife

and finally a working pair of hands

It would really help to cover the inside unfinished edge of the particle board.
Either black paint or the same black vinyl.
You can fold it against the edges when applying to the front like wrapping a present.

Focus FOCUS!

No, seriously though... Make sure your speaker matches the impedance of the unit's speaker, or you could be setting yourself up for disappointment.

I would suggest, instead, junk a pair of headphones, and wire that jack to the speaker(both Right AND left, to the single speaker). Most portable dvd's have built in limiters for the headphone jack, so you're less likely to cause the internal amp to blow or burn. If you find it's not quite up to par... consider adding a Altoid Amp
