Introduction: Copycat: Microwave Caramel Corn (Caramazingmel Corn)

About: I am now in high school, and enjoy creating new and interesting things. If I am not crafting something, I am outdoors enjoying everything that Bend, Oregon has to offer.

Ever have the craving for something sweet, crunchy, and delicious! (If you are a normal human being the answer to that question is YES! YES! YES!) This recipe can be made in literally minutes, and only takes three ingredients! I can eat bowl after bowl of this stuff... So go ahead and make some Caramazingmel Corn to satisfy those cravings anytime!

INGREDIENTS
1. Butter or Margerine
2. Wax paper
3. Popping kernels
4. Brown sugar
5. Salt

Step 1: Butter N' Corn

The first thing that you need to do is melt about a tablespoon of butter in the microwave. This only takes about 10 seconds. After the butter is melted or almost melted, add approximately 3 tablespoons of popcorn kernels for popping. The amount of kernels and butter will depend on the quantity that you want to make, but there is no such thing as too much butter ;)
Mix up the corn kernels and the butter until the kernels are evenly coated,

Step 2: Brown Sugar Makes Everything Gooder

After you have all of the kernels are covered in butter, simply add the brown sugar. Add enough to mostly coat all the kernels, just like the butter. The amount here will vary also by your batch size, but a small hand full works well for me.
Now you got to mix it all up! Make sure everything is covered and looks goopy.

Step 3: Bag 'er Up!

Before you spoon the corn mixture into the bag, you have to make the bag! This is an easy task and only requires some wax or parchment paper and your hands!
1. Cut a good sized section out. Use more than you think you will need because the popcorn expands!
2. Fold it in half and fold the edges over a few times then secure by pressing down on it hard.
3. After the edge is folded, fold one end of the bag in the same way that you did the first edge. Make sure to fold the corner well so that the bag does not open in the microwave.

Now that you have your bag made, carefully spoon the corn into it and spread it out so it is only a single layer thick. Once all the corn is inside, seal the end that is open the same way that you did the rest of the bag. Poke a hole or two into the top of the bag to let the hot air escape when it is in the microwave.

Step 4: POP! Microwave POP!

The last step is the easiest. It is just one word: MICROWAVE!
Place the bag inside the microwave and enter a time of about 3 minutes. On my microwave that is about the popcorn button plus 30 seconds. It may take a minute or two to start popping, but DO NOT over cook the corn, there is nothing worse than burnt caramel. Take the bag out when there is a few seconds between each pop.
Carefully open it, you can use a knife if it is easier, and dump the caramel corn into a bowl. Add a few pinches of salt because salt and caramel pair very well together.
The bottom of the bag should be covered in caramel also, and you can scrape this off with a spoon and add as a topping to ice cream, sprinkle it on the caramel corn, or leave out for the Caramel Corn Faeries to eat in a thank you for making this caramel corn magic possible!

Step 5: And Another Bowl...

Ok, when I make this I eat a bowl or two because it is sooo good!
I think that this recipe is just as good as anything that comes from the store, and you know that there are no chemicals going into your food.
