You should hear a dial tone on the radio. When you talk on the PC microphone you should hear yourself on the speaker..
If you hear that then everything is ok. If you don't, read the bottom of this page.
Now, you don't have to carry a phone, but it's still not completely cordless. This is version 1.0. Version 2.0 will be cordless, completely! :D
Troubleshooting:
1.Can you hear yourself on the PC mic? (If so, go to 2)
check volume properties in windows. make sure the mic is turned on and plugged in
2. Is the FM microphone working?
If not, pick it up and speak into it. If you hear something, it's working, go to 3.
You may have to tune the mic/radio to the right frequency.
3. Do you hear a dial tone?
make sure the phone is plugged in. Check other phones in the house.
