Cowscankill's Personal Knuckle Duster (Brass Knuckles)

Cowscankill\
I am a part of a weapons forum and recently decided to make some knuckle dusters.  They are very easy to make and only require some time.  These are personal wooden knuckle dusters I made for my user.

Made from hardwood with a wood saw, drill, dremel, and sandpaper.  I got the awesome sandstone look from soaking the knuckles in bleach. The design is of my own.  Maybe I'll make a metal one in the future? :D

I have plans for a brass knuckle gun. Made from aluminum, it will fire 3 .22 shorts from between the knuckles. How illegal do you think that is?

It's called a knuckle buster, and it's pretty damned illegal. I think they classify them as zip guns.

I remember seeing something about the zip gun classification a while back. They aren't very practical but still a cool idea.

There are lots of things out there that aren't technically weapons...but they become weapons by legal definition when they are used as such OR when someone declares their INTENTIONS to use them as a weapon.

A stick isn't a weapon....it's a stick, and they're legal to own LOL.

Hit someone with that stick or tell someone that you're going to hit them with that stick and it now has gone from being a simple stick to a weapon.

Simple verbage can be the difference between being perfectly legal and being taken to jail.

I have some awfully long sharp nails on my fingers and if I use them to harm someone I wonder if that is considered a weapon being that they are a part of my body but sharp and can cut.

Come to thin of it, my brain can lash out harmful injuries to someone. Morganbarker's correct about anything being considered a weapon. Golf club, knife, frying pan or purse. If it harms or threatens to harm it's a weapon. If a jury or judge has to decide upon looking at those knuckle hitters or an innocent looking household item they'll see something more into that intentional knuckle gizmo than any thing else.

So if pick up a twig and poke someone with it, I can be arrested? Lol jk I get it, though no-one would notice these as a weapon.
Mar 27, 2011. 5:53 PMmslaynie says:
Actually, yes. Assault and battery doesn't have a certain limit, like you have to hit them with a stick a certain diameter or larger. If you put your hands (or something else, like you said a stick) on someone without their permission, it can be considered assault.
Mar 27, 2011. 11:40 PMNeovenetar says:
Yes, but only paranoid people try to arrest people who poke them with a stick.
Mar 28, 2011. 12:37 AMmslaynie says:
That or extremely annoyed ones. :D

About your thing with the wooden gun, it is perfectly legal to make a firearm, you just can not go out and start selling them.
