They all deserve to win... i say you split the 25 grand equally! (will make the judges job alot easier, i would hate to choose between all those great projects)

Yeah, it's a tough call. Looking forward to seeing who takes it.

I am too, lets hope its more of a reveal than the final cylon...

Yes, that wasn't a great reveal, though I didn't expect the 5th would be that person. It would be nice to break that 20 thousand prize broken down and have more winners, those finalists are all awesome!

The inlaid wooden box was a winner in the Christmas Gift contest and not the winner of the Workshop of the Future contest

That's true, but he was talking about the latest battlestar galactica episode.
Jan 21, 2009. 6:17 AMgmjhowe says:
haha, coincidence, the 5th one happened to also be a winner.

Yeah, funny that.

Not at all - I'm actually a cylon ;-)

Gasp, I thought the contests are only open to humans.
Jan 22, 2009. 11:18 PMtechnoplastique says:
No, they just limit you based on where you live and your age. No rules about being human at all...

Well, it wasn't intended to be a great reveal, i was reading io9, and they basically said, that because of the writers strike, the season got split, they never intended 'that ending' to be a cliff hanger. Though, the last few months have been tense.. no bsg to watch. now both BSG and Lost are back! yeye!

Finally caught the episode last night. What role will the fifth have now?
Jan 21, 2009. 6:20 AMgmjhowe says:
Well, from what i have dared to read on io9.com, it would seem the end gets kinda crazy, but in a good way. Im just hoping for a WTF moment, but not like the previous 80's series. Was kinda crazy what with starbuck also... many questions, i guess thats why i will continue to watch. I will be sad when its over, but i am glad they havn't stretched it out in order to make money.
Jan 21, 2009. 4:14 PMChrysN says:
Yes, the starbuck thing is interesting. I wonder what the spin off, Caprica will be like.
Jan 21, 2009. 9:00 AMfungus amungus says:
OK. I've been avoiding reading anything about it. I want everything to be a surprise.
Jan 21, 2009. 10:10 AMgmjhowe says:
yeah, ive avoided the spoilers as much as poss. I have no idea where it goes from here. Which is good. Im going to enjoy this last half season.

hehe! I had no idea I made it to the final - I kept checking my inbox and the original competition page. I agree that the prize should be divided up equally - all 15 entries are equally amazing. That said $500 2nd prize is not to be sniffed at - that will get you a lot of gear! These are all great entries, amazing talent. I want to build an electric bike for my commute, a solar PV tracker for my workshop, an Atari lamp for my beside and a honey extractor (although I already have a honey extractor, the electric one looks awesome) Congratulations to everyone and I truly feel sorry for the judges - very tough call. /pauric

That said, I can't complain about any of the entries above. Nice work people.
