After all the entries came in there were three rounds of voting and judging. The first round of public voting selected 30 Round 2 finalists. The staff of Instructables, Popular Science, and Toolmonger narrowed those down to 15 Round 3 finalists. Finally, experts from Craftsman Tools judged these finalists, and selected the $20,000 grand-prize winner as well as the runners-up who will each receiving $500 worth of tools.
These 11 Instructables are amazing, and well worth checking out for inspiration for your next project. But don't stop there. Be sure to check out all of the great entries and get inspired to build something fantastic of your own. Put your tools to good use!

ALL Power Labs is an open-source power-hacking group that happens to have got something to work and built a kit in addition to publishing the plans online. It's no different from, for example, making a kit from your Instructable and/or selling things you make on Etsy. This is great motivation to start a community workshop in your area, so you can build bigger and better projects!
So in short, we're all in favor of hackers/makers/tinkerers/crafters turning their hobbies into income - it means you might be able to get by without a "real" job. ;)
So, when are you going to post a nuclear breeder Instructable?
