Picture of Craig's Modern RGB LED Clock

I needed a nice looking clock for my new home so I decided to design and build one. This clock uses an Arduino compatible micro controller, a Chronodot real time clock module and a 14 LED segment of a RGB LED ribbon.

Pictures of my build, a schematic and links to the firmware are available at the link below:

This clock turned out really well and always gets positive comments from all who see it. One pleasant but unanticipated side effect of the clock's packaging is that in the dark the clock projects a collage of colors on the wall behind it. The color and the shapes change with the time in very pleasing ways.

Here is a video of the clock in operation.

Why not build one for yourself ?

One more comment. You already have better instructions on your site, why don't you transfer them here?

It's a beautiful clock.

I do have a suggestion, tho. Fix the LED strip mounting at the 12:00 and 5:30 positions so that you get a perfect circle. Those kinks are a bit of distraction to the eye. Alternatively, remove the waterproof sheath so that only the LED points are visible from the front. That might help with continuity break at the 5:30 position.
