Create a dreamy photo effect using Adobe Photoshop. by stacieanne

This is just a basic tutorial on how to give your photos a hazy, dreamy, skin-softening effect.

All you need is a photo you wish to edit, and any version of Adobe Photoshop (or any other good photo-editing software).

There are much newer and more advanced versions available now, but I personally use Photoshop Elements 2.0 . I've had it for years, and I find it easy to use and understand.

Ready? Let's begin!

PS, Thank you to Instructables for featuring my tutorial!  I was a little bit shocked considering it was my first one ;)

Step 1: Open your photo in Photoshop.

After you have chosen a photo, open it in your photo-editing program.  I chose to use a photo from my high school graduation. (wooo, class of 2008!)

If anyone tries this out, I would love to see your results, so please share! :)

Great work.
Next time you might want to think about isolating the subject a little. Apply some more blur, or something else, to the background - the bookcase is just a tad distracting.

Nice, it is called the Orton effect. There are variations on it. This is a real nice result
