Creating Tileable Textures With Gimp

Cool instructable! :) FYI, A lot of sources recommend that you use powers of two, e.g. 256, 512 or1024, for textures, especially if they're going into a game.

Also, this method will result in very obvious repeating patterns especially when using a small tile size tile over a large area, which may or may not be what you want:

wow. this is a simple yet ingenius way to make tileable textures. as im workingon starting the begginning of a game, this technique will be extremely useful for texturing things. just a shame you dont have more comments :( james waples, 14 ps. hope i start a trend :P
