Hi guys! Good afternoon =)

In today's Instructable, I wanna share with you, the pattern to make this basic Crochet Heart.

In case that you are looking the smaller version of this design, you can find its Instructable HERE.

Let's begin! =D

0:46 Gauge (stitch measurement)

Step 2: Materials

- Crochet Hook(D3)

- Yarn (sport weight yarn)

- Scissors

- Tapestry needle(pointless)

Step 3: Gauge

The heart that you saw at the beginning of the tutorial, was 1.4 inches long and wide. In my case, I used a D3 hook and a sport weight yarn. If you use this type of hook and yarn, in 2 inches you should have 9 stitches.

2" = 9 stitches

Step 4: Chart / Pattern

To make this heart, in a magic ring, we are going to work three chain stitches.

Now, for the first half:

- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Double Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Treble Crochet
- Three Double Crochet
- One Treble Crochet and a chain stitch to finish the first half.

For the second half:

- One Treble Crochet
- Three Double Crochet
- One Half Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- One Half Double Treble Crochet
- One Treble Crochet
- Three Chain stitches and a slip stitch.

Step 5: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

To begin with this heart, the first thing that we have to do, it’s a Magic Ring, which is a basic technique whose Instructable isHERE.

Step 6: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

Once that we have finished the magic ring, we are going to work two chain stitches (to have a total of three chains at the beginning of the round).

To make a chain stitch: yarn over and pull the hook through the loop that was already on it.

Step 7: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

Now, work a Treble Crochet.

To make it: yarn over twice, pass the hook through the ring, yarn over again, pull the hook and by now you must have four loops on it, yarn over and pull the hook through the first two loops, yarn over again and pull the hook through the next two loops, yarn over one last time and pull the hook through the two loops left.

Step 8: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

Now a Half Double Treble Crochet.

To make it: wrap the yarn around the hook three times, pass the hook through the ring, yarn over, pull the hook and by now you must have five loops on it, yarn over and pull the hook through the first two loops, yarn over again and pull the hook through the next two loops, yarn over one last time and pull the hook through the three loops left.

Step 9: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

Now a Treble Crochet.

Step 10: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

And now a Half Treble Crochet.

To make a Half Treble Crochet: yarn over twice, pass the hook through the ring, yarn over again, pull the hook and by now you must have four loops on it, yarn over and pull the hook through the first two loops, yarn over again and pull the hook through the three loops left.

Step 11: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

Now Three Double Crochet.

To make a Double Crochet: yarn over, pass the hook through the ring, yarn over again, pull the hook, and by now you must have three loops on it, yarn over and pull the hook through the first two loops, yarn over again and pull the hook through the last two loops on it.

Step 12: Step by Step: FIRST HALF

As soon as you finish the third Double Crochet, we are gonna work a Treble Crochet and a chain stitch to finish the first half.

Step 13: Step by Step: SECOND HALF

To make the second half:

- One Treble Crochet.

- Three Double Crochet.

- One Half Treble Crochet.

- One Treble Crochet.

- One Half Double Treble Crochet.

- One Treble Crochet.

- Three chain stitches, close a little bit the magic ring and finish the heart with a slip stitch.

Step 14: Step by Step: SECOND HALF

To make a slip stitch: pass the hook through the ring, yarn over, pull the hook, and now, pull the hook again but now through the first loop on it, counting from right to left.

Step 15: Step by Step: SECOND HALF

Close the ring and finish off.
