Hi friends!

This is my newest creation. Actually there is a story behind it. My nephew who is 5 is just fuzzy to have his milk.

I tried all my ways to inspire him with no great luck. Hence I decided to make his cup look fascinating.

That's how I came with an owl shaped crochet cozy with flying wings.

He loves it! Now he is asking me for a tiger cozy.

Single crochet across the chain

Step 9: Beak (2)

Turn Over. Work four chain stitches

Skip the first stitch of your previous row. Loop the yarn and insert into next stitch (the second stitch of the previous row). Loop the yarn and pull it through.

Repeat this process two more times, moving onto the next stitch in the previous row each time. When finished, you should have 6 loops on your hook.

Step 10: Beak (3)

Yarn Over. Draw through seven loops.

Finish the work.

Step 11: Wing Instruction (1)

Ch 2

Row 1: Chain 3 and 1 hdc in the same stitch. Now we get the first v stitch.

Miss 1 stitch and do 1 hdc in the next stitch. Chain 1 and do 1 hdc in the same stitch.

Now we have 2 "V" stitch

Step 12: Crocodile Stitch (1)

Chain 3 and do 4 hdc through the right leg of the V stitch. Do Chain 1.

How to do it??

Notice the "V" stitch below. We have to do hdc from under one leg of the V stitch. Yarn over and then take the crochet hook under right leg of the V stitch.

For more reference of how to do crocodile stitch please refer Step 10, 11 and 12.

Step 13: Crocodile Stitch (2)

Now turn your work. Do 4 hdc now through the other leg of the V stitch.

Now you have completed 1 crocodile stitch. Do the same with the other "V" stitch.

Make another one in Pink yarn.

Step 14: Finish the Wing

Make a crocodile portion with just 1 crocodile stitch in blue yarn.

For that Ch 1.

Row 1: Chain 3 and 1 hdc in the same stitch. Now we get the first v stitch.

Repeat the crocodile stitch for 1 V- stitch as described before.

Now sew 2 blue and 1 pink portion together so that single crocodile stitch portion is below.

Make another wing in the same way.

Step 15: Sew

Now sew the eyes, beak, wing all on the body of the cozy.

I am sure your kids will love it.

My nephew loves his owl cozy cup.
