I saw a pattern for shark mittens on Ravelry on really wanted to make them but the pattern called for tunisian crocheting and I had no idea how to do that. The pattern also says you can also do it in regular crochet but the pattern itself was for a small child. So because of that I pretty much just used the concept of the shark mittens but made it in the pattern (with a lot of alterations) of some fingerless gloves/mittens that I had recently crocheted and knew would fit a small teenager's hand.
I wrote up exactly how I did it here.

I looked at a couple of your other "ibles" which seem to be well done ( I don't crochet so it was all greek to me) I should have looked before commenting so quickly. Links to other pages are ok with instuctabales, it's just annoying when you have to sign up for a site to see anything and then remember ANOTHER user name and password. It's not your fault and after I sent this "ible" to my daughter who crochets she signed up for ravelry

Haha well thank you. Even if you don't really understand what I'm talking about I'm glad you think my others are well done. The ibles I have on here that aren't guides were only put up because of a contest where it wasn't necessary to make a guide. I do try to link as well as I can though on those in case someone is interested. I understand what you mean about having to remember all the usernames and passwords though. I have the same username on both ravelry and instructables so that helps a bit. Though my passwords are different so that can trip me up sometimes. I hope your daughter enjoys it. :)

It is an instructable for something really cool, but it doesn't tell you how to make it, it just directs you to a website that you have to sign up for. That is what I call spam. I wish it wasn't as I would make this.

Oh I see. I'm sorry. I believe I made this with the intention to enter it in a contest. I wasn't attempting to create any sort of spam. I would make a full on instructable about it but since I created neither of the patterns that I used I didn't feel as though I should. I did tweak it a bit but still it wasn't my pattern. I put the disclaimer so that no one would be upset when they clicked on a link and it tried to tell them they had to sign up.

I can change the description to say exactly what I said on ravelry but since the other patterns that I used a referenced are on ravelry people would run into the same problem. :/
