My son gave me two empty Crosman shells of CO2, and since I did not know what to do with them, I asked Instructables forum. Jayefuu gave me a good idea, and put into practice. There are others good too, but I went for it. This is the result.

Step 1: Elementos (elements)

In addition of an empty Crosman cartridge, keep a file or rasp that lacks a handle. In my case, this is working well without it since its birth, more than 25 years ago. But for that matter, comes in handy to make guinea pigs.

Great up-cycle idea!

I agree, It was not mine.
At last! Goodbye to soar hands. That's a really clever idea Sir Rimar! Keep it up!

I connected all my mini files to my CO2 canisters =))
Thanks for your kind comment, Angelo. The idea was property of Jayefuu.
these are the ones I made. estos son los que he hecho:
Good work! Thanks for comment.
great idea!!..i`ll sand mine and spray with truck bed liner....ahhhh greasey hands and still have grip
Thanks for your comment, abstracted!

I have not access to truck bed liner, but that seems a good idea.
This is the most freaking genius idea I've ever seen !
Thanks, nepheron. The idea came from Jayefuu.
Who in turn saw it from a crafty old guy and thought "wow" so told Rimar about it when he asked :)
Good work Jayefuu and Rimar2000!
Thanks, as far as I'm concerned!
Great idea, I have dozens of those.

When I was young we'd fill them with gunpowder and make bombs, but that's frowned upon in today's hyper criminalization society. ;-(
You're obviously throwing them in the wrong direction.
They went to where they wanted.
Aye, one doesn't really have control over the exact fallout from home-made explosives.
Sometimes I believe in guardian angels... If they do not exist I should have died many times.
But then you wouldn't be on Instructables! Send them a word of thanks next time you can.
Thanks, my ego is growing excessively!!
When I was young (it is to say younger than today) I was "the terror of the neighborhood" because my pyrotechnic experiments! Fortunately nothing ever destroyed or set fire.
Esto es una gran idea!
Thanks, Bron98. The idea came from Jayefuu.
Great cheap solution to a problem. I've used thread bobbins, odd wood scraps, whatever is at hand at the time for this problem. If it's something you use a lot, then fill the container with something to balance the weight, otherwise, it should be fine as is.
Good idea, thanks!

It is not easy to fill the cartridge, the hole id tiny.
Tanto simples como bonito!
a cheap work glove with rubber dots or made for wet weather or good gripping would work well here.brtter tan robber bands, ansd safer if you slip. bicycle inner tube cut open also is great to wrap around and make a gripper surface
Thanks, escapefromyonkers, the glove is a good idea, but as I use the file for only a few seconds each time, I think that in this case is better to follow the KISS principle: "Keep It Simple, Stupid".
Awesome idea. I have a whole box of these cartridges, somewhere, I now have a use for them.

Suggestion: I could see where these under the right circumstances could become slippery.

I suggest putting some sports type friction tape on the cartridge to give it a little "grip" in your hand. The stuff they use on baseball bats and such.

Again, great idea!!
wrap a rubber band or two around it :) My fiance' taught me the same trick for wet jar lids
Thanks, BigCommieNat.

Regarding the grip, as I use the file for only a few seconds each time, I think that in this case is better to follow the KISS principle: "Keep It Simple, Stupid".
Hey BigCommieNat, that should work and is cheaper. Thanks for the idea.
Thanks, T-Hawke. The idea came from Jayefuu.

Regarding the grip, as I use the file for only a few seconds each time, I think that in this case is better to follow the KISS principle: "Keep It Simple, Stupid".
You use it to make guinea pigs?
No, no, what I tried to say was that the file would be a guinea pig.

Pardon my "yes bwana" English.
Oh. I don't think we have those in the U.S.. This is what a guinea pig is here.
Guinea pigs are used for laboratory experimenting. Thanks for your concern.
Ohhhhh. I didn't realize the reference before. I feel dumb now.
What a wonderful idea! Kudos for your lateral thinking !
The idea came form Jayefuu. Thanks for your comment!
i like it! muy bien!

i have lots of these empty cartridges and lots of files without handles..

mucho gracias rimar!
Thanks for your comment, profpat. The challenge is to find a more interesting use for these nice empty cartridges.
Hola Osvaldo,
Nice job. About the only improvement I'd sugest is to use the CO2 to push your homebrew out of the keg first, and then make some handles.
There are plenty of brewing 'ibles to get you started.
Ahhh, cervesa.
Ahhh retirement.
Hello Mtalus! The cartridges came to me empty. My son used all CO2. I think them can't be removed until all the gas is wasted.
Great idea!

Thanks for your comment!
Me gustó el invento. Yo tengo varias botellitas de esas usadas guardadas, no quería tirarlas porque me imaginaba que podrían servirme para algo. Y además tengo algunas limitas nuevas sin mango. Mañana mismo les instalo las botellitas. Gracias, buen aporte. Saludos.
