Step 3Sanding

Sanding
Sand down the insides of the 2" PVC rings and also the inside/outside of the coupler, until it fits snuggly inside the 2" PVC ring. Do this 4 more times. Then cut a 1/2" notch in the 1 1/2" coupler, then glue to the inside of the 2" PVC ring.

Ok I feel stupid but is the notch in the coupler cut all the way from one end to the other? and also is the couple then glued to one ring or one of the 2 1/8"pieces???

Can you please be clearer on the sanding part, I'm not sure what I'm supposed to sand exactly. I get how the rest goes together, but I don't have the PVC here with me right now so i cant fiddle with it. If someone could post a response to help me or if you could update it, it'd be much appreciated.
