Cup to the Ceiling Prank

Cup to the Ceiling Prank
This is a very simple prank that will leave your victim with two choices: either to drop the cup and have water spill all over the floor or to just stand there until someone nice enough comes around to help them out.

Step 1Materials

Materials
For this trick you will need:

1. A Cup (Nothing that can break, a plastic cup will work best)
2. A Broom or something else with a pole
3. Water
4. A Chair or Step Ladder
5. A Piece of Paper
6. A Writing Utensil

Cost: Nothing more than $5 considering most people have most of these items

for an even more annoying ending, you could do the bug prank setup (as suggd. by eyebot117) but use some weak glue to hold the cup to the cieling for several seconds after it is released. that way, the person would frantically hold up the cup, beleiveing it would fall, then when they fail and let go, it WOULDNT FALL, which would just piss them off more forthe wasted effort. if you got the glue to work right, after several seconds the cup actually WOULD FALL, contributing even more to the persons annoyance...

Here's a more efficient excuse-tell them you've captured a wasp (or some other ferocious stinging insect from hell) and that you've somehow pinned it down against the ceiling with a cup. Ask your friend to hold it while you get the insecticide or the flyswatter. When they take it, go and get the camera instead, take funny pictures. Then take several steps back and enjoy the prank! Also, it might be better to have a bigger cup with a lot of water in it. This will be very heavy and hard to hold up. A shorter stick may also be desirable, as the victim would have to hold their arm above their head (and everyone knows that you can only do THAT for so long), and it would make it harder to get out of range should the cup fall. For the ultimate, fill the cup with a liquid other than water.

That last line made me laugh! It's a good idea though, you wouldn't want it to fall on you!

I personally like to take cups and fill them with water, then put some sort of card on top and flip them over, then place them on a table and remove the card. someone comes along and picks up the cup and water goes everywhere.

Take the caps off the salt and pepper shakers in a restaurant and the do the same thing on the table.  Especially useful for bad service.

I think it'd been better yet if the stick being used (in this case the broom) has them on their toes to hold up the cup, that way they are right under it and eventually they'll get too tired and spill the contents on them directly! perhaps fashioning urslef a "magic wand" out of a painted dowel might add some legitimacy and more epic an ending.
