Vanilla Bean Pots De Crème is dessert custard that can be appreciated by experienced cooks and beginners alike. It is a treat that is straight forward, easy to make, and will impress your friends. By using a whole vanilla bean, you are able to get a fuller flavoring of vanilla, as opposed to using the vanilla extract bought in bottles. The authenticity of real vanilla beans is clearly better and impossible to fully replicate.
The main ingredients are egg yolks, sugar, and heavy cream, all of which are inexpensive and easily accessible for almost anybody. The most expensive and difficult item to find is the vanilla bean, but this can still be found at most grocery stores for between four and six dollars.
Vanilla Bean Pots De Crème is an excellent selection for the end of a dinner party or anytime a delicious treat is desired. The crème is served cold and is composed somewhere between pudding and ice cream. It is a perfect addition to a warm summer night.

Step 1

To begin, measure and organize the following ingredients:

• 2 ½ cups heavy cream
• 2/3 cup milk
• ½ cup plus 1 tablespoon sugar
• 1 vanilla bean
• 6 large egg yolks

For equipment, you will only require some basic tools which can be found in most kitchens, including:
• sauce pan
• whisk
• strainer
• 6 coffee cups
• baking pan
• baking sheet.
