Introduction: Custom John Deere Lawn Mower

Picture of Custom John Deere Lawn Mower

This is a little vehicle I put together just for fun. Few pieces but pretty cool looking.

Step 1: The Sections

Picture of The Sections

These are all the primary sections of the Mower.

Step 2: Engine and Wheels

Picture of Engine and Wheels

This steps primary piece is  the wind back engine that is attached to the green wheels. The engine can be subsituted for a few flat pieces and an axle. Anyway the engine stacked up with four flat pieces.

Step 3: Hood

Straight forward, two green 4x2 bricks.

Step 4: Rear and Exhaust Stacks

Now the tricky part here is the rear wheel wells that the stacks are attached to are held up by the yellow piceces on the rear. The flat one and the yellow decaled one.

Step 5: Steering Wheel and Sides

The easy way toput this section on is to put the flat yelow piece and steering wheel on the vehicle first. Than put the green pieces on the lawn underside of  the thin yellow piece,

Step 6: Blade Guard or Deck

This hinged part should attach to the under-siide of the small green part added earlier.

Step 7: Grille and Front Fender

To add this assembly to what is already built I had to take the hood off and attach the grille and fender to it. Than I put the hood back on. Then you are done!! Enjoy your Custom John Deere Lawn Mower!! =)

Step 8: Coming Soon

I am working to make instructions for this Artillery truck. It's a combination of lego car and gun. It shoots two small lego bricks and can hold six bullets in it's clips. It's a little bigger than the lawn mower and the Labor Day weekend is comeing to an end, so at best it should be done next weekend.

Alright! Way to make it custom.

JonnyBGood (author)2012-09-05

Has anyone built this or intend on building it?

thing 2 (author)JonnyBGood2012-09-06

I might make one, or a modified on and use it in a film.

JonnyBGood (author)thing 22012-09-06

Cool! Just checked out your youtube page. If that's stopmotion you used for the films it blows any film I've made out of the water.

thing 2 (author)JonnyBGood2012-09-06

Gee, thanks man. Haha, yeah sometimes stopmotion gets tedious. If you want to get more into it send me a PM on here or Youtube. :)

JonnyBGood (author)thing 22012-09-06

Wil do. Another vehicle you may be interested in is an RV I built that I plan to post after the Artillery Truck.

Sweet! Keep 'em coming! Do you have a youtube channel? If so I'd like to know. You should post videos "showcasing" your builds and have a link to the instructable! :D

JonnyBGood (author)thing 22012-09-07

Good idea! But to be perfectly honest I haven't built a lego car in a while. What I have been posting is of my stockpile of over 20 lego cars I built a few months ago. I take them apart, post the instructions, and rebuild it. Right now my workshop is full of knex for my current Halloween Contest entry but I plan to build more cars after that.

thing 2 (author)JonnyBGood2012-09-07

Sweet, I'll be expecting it all. ;)

JonnyBGood (author)thing 22012-09-21

Got a stop motion upoaded on Step 7.

thing 2 (author)JonnyBGood2012-09-21

Haha sweet!

JonnyBGood (author)thing 22012-09-21

Yeah, I made it for my demonstration speech. My Professor told me that my speech was the most intresting speech in a long time. I think that translates to sn A+

Cool! I love that minifig's torso too!

Thanks! It was part of the Lego Train set I got maybe eight years back.
