Introduction: Custom Stencil T-shirt

This is an instructable on how to make your own sick custom stencil shirts.

The things that you will be needing:

  • 1 shirt
  • spray paints(whatever colours you prefer)
  • an idea
  • a printed picture
  • Photoshop
  • cutting board
  • x acto knife
  • iron(optional)
  • a big piece of cardboard
  • lots of newspaper

Step 1: Get Your Knife

To start this you will need to get your cutting tools.

Step 2: The Idea

When you have an idea of what you want to stencil on to your shirt, take that image and insert it in to Photoshop. At the top of you bar find "image" then go to "adjustments" > then Threshold, adjust the threshold so it looks nice.

Then go back to the top of the bar and find the "filter" then go to "filter gallery", choose cutout and set all values to minimum.

Then save the photo and print it.

Step 3: Cut It

After you have printed it out, start cutting it out, make sure to leave bridges where they are needed, so it does not fall out.

Step 4: Finish Cutting

You can check your cut out by shining light through it and see the shadow.

Step 5: (Optional) Ironing

This step is not required, but it is something that I like to do, you iron the stencil so that it is very flat.

After this just store it in a plastic file, until needed.

Step 6: Iron the Shirt

Take an iron, and iron the shirt you are going to stencil. It is because you want to get the flattest surface possible.

Step 7: Get Dem Cans Ready

Pick the colours that you want, and shake them for at least 3 min. (at least some exercise) and lay you shirt out with the cardboard in it. You don't want to get any colours on the back and also to keep it flat.

Step 8: Spray That Shirt

This part is completely up to you, how you you want the layers to be, the only thing that I can suggest is to spray the darker colour on lighter ones.

Step 9: Finished

You are now finished and you can look as fresh as a cucumber, remember you can do it with lots of other pictures and words, and totally make the look how you want to.

thanks for looking at my instructable, and remember

What happens when you wash it? How long do these colors last?
