You can make this cute purse/tote from a used container that would otherwise go into the landfill.

Step 1: Plastic Cylinder Into Cute Purse

If you or someone you know takes this fiber supplement you will have the main component for this project. The container for Meta-mucil is a perfect cylinder with a bright orange top. The "label" is a thin plastic covering - easily removed with scissors or an x-acto knife.

Step 2: Materials Needed:

  • Plastic cylinder
  • Pop Rivet tool
  • Pop Rivets
  • 7/8" Grosgrain ribbon, two (2) lengths of 22"
  • Hand drill and drill bit

Step 3: Prepare Cylinder

  • Pop the paper liner out of the lid
  • Drill a 1/4" hole in the lid - this is to accommodate ear buds
  • Drill a pair of 1/8" holes on three sides of the cylinder - 2" from the edge of the white part of container

Step 4: Finished
