MMMMMM..... Fresh pie. Who doesn't enjoy homemade pie! Especially when they are right out of the oven.

My goal for this Instructable was to make a small, 1-2 person pie. This was an experiment of mine that turned out to be a great success. I used fresh sweet cherries off my neighbor’s tree (I got permission first) and Granny Smith apples from the store. I lacked the motivation to make my own dough, so I used the store bought solution. This recipe makes 4 mini pies.

Step 1: Ingredients

I will address the recipe in 3 parts: first the cherry filling, then the apple, and finally pie making process. Please note that this is the original recipe, rather than one that was divided by 5. Now, please preheat the oven to 375°F

Baking Items
mini oven-proof ceramic cups (Ramekins)
various measuring cups
2 Bowls
knife/cherry pitter

1 9 inch pie crust

Cherry Filling:
1 cup of cherries (I chose to use sweet cherries, but if you use sour, add more sugar.)
2.5 tablespoons of sugar
2 teaspoons of cornstarch
1.5 teaspoons of water
0.5 of a teaspoon of lemon juice
A drop of almond extract

Optional items:
1-2 drops of red food coloring
1 egg white to glaze the top

Mmmmmmm. I am oddly hugry now.

Just finished pitting some fresh cherries. Phew! Needed your encouragement to go further. These finished pies look great! Well back to work. Thanks!
I'll make one in the microwave oven >:O
great idea! if you do, please post the time/temp.!
I had no dough, but according to estimations, if you do the same thing, at 90% power, for ~4 mins it should come out nicely.
Dear sir or ma'am, I just made one of your pies (apple) and they are delightful! Although on my oven it took around 30 minutes on 400 degrees, but I guess all oven are different! Cheap, quick, and perfect for those times where you want a pie just big enough for yourself. I love this recipe. Heres mine:
That's great! i believe that you forgot to post a picture/link of your pie though
Oh, it appears i have, this should work
some how i did not get an email about your comment. Bad Robot! hahaha just kidding it was probably my spam filter. Looks good!
These look delicious. I'm a little confused about Step 7 though. How do I serve it "with hot"?
it is servid with hot ice cream but that is a bit imposible
I think we have to purchase this "hot" somewhere...
hahaha sorry i edited it to say "This is best severed hot, with vanilla ice cream."
Oh no! How do we sever the pies? I'm sorry.. I'm just having fun...
sorry grammar and spelling are enemies to me.
