Not pretty, but if it can at least take down a mutant squirrel at more than 20yds then it's got my vote as a throwaway gun (think hi-point)! Punk may translate to unprofessional (forgives the duct tape), but if it's just going to blink at me, then I think I'd put more work into it's appearance.

instead of rolling the gun in duct tape, if you have it, you could make the body out of notecards or something similar and spray paint it a chrome color.
