When I was a kid using this technic on folded paper gave such a delight...a delightful adventure! The adventurous part is, you never knew how the outcome will look like...! Using it on fabric did not lessen the pleasure not even a little :)! Hope everyone enjoys it as I did!!

Step 1: Needed Materials:

*T shirt (I am using T shirts, it can be anything handkerchief to bed spread !!) *Acrylic paints *thread (thick thread will be ideal...but if using the normal sewing threads fold it in to 3s or 4s!) *A heavy book or something like that.

Step 2:

On a table spread the t shirt flat and neat .Mark the center of the t shirt where we will be folding because (to maintain the symmetry) all the designs will be getting an identical twin :)! We should dip the thread thoroughly in needed colours (as shown in the pic.) leaving a small part at the end for handling!!(The length of the thread depends on individual preferences, if you want more curves/coils you need more length!)

Step 3:

Now we have to lay the threads on one half of the symmetry, there aren't any hard and fast rule how to lay them...usually the threads lead us...!!(except one issue not to lay them one over the other!)Let the uncolored part of the thread hang out of the t shirt.

Step 4:

Fold the t shirt over the threads neatly without shaking or moving it (my ones are messed up a little !). Keep a heavy book over the folded t shirt! And now give a slight press on the book with a hand and use the other hand to pull the threads one by one steadily...DONE!! Just remove the book and unfold the t shirt...you will love it!!!

Step 5: Tips

1. You can keep the threads vertically (black t shirt) or slanted (white t shirt). 2.Using one color is easy but using different colors more fun(have to be conscious of the colors you will get when they blend..). 3.If you are using a light material t shirt, it's advisable to keep an old newspaper between the front and the back of the t shirt before you start. 4.If you don't like identical designs, lay the threads where you want them and without folding the t shirt cover the threads with an old cloth and continue the same procedure! *Enjoy the joy of colors!!!*
