Introduction: DIY Altoid Fly Box

This fly box is easy to make and very handy. You can make it with an Altoids tin or lacking that, I used a Sucrets tin.

Step 1: You Will Need:

A glue gun, window framing insulation, (or any thin closed cell foam) a altoid tin, and a piece of cork. (optional)

Step 2: Trace

Trace the shape of the tin three times on the foam. Make sure not to trace the lid.

Step 3: Cut

Cut out what you just traced.

Step 4: Corked

Cut a small piece of cork so the lid can still close and glue it on. (optional)

Step 5: Glue

Glue in each sheet of foam, one on top of the other.

Step 6: Glue Some More

I would suggest gluing around the edges of the final sheet to seal it up.

Step 7: Finished!

Fill the box with all your favourite flies. The cork strip is to dry your fly after use. All flies pictured are tied by me.

What a great idea! And much safer than digging around in a tackle box for them. :)

If anyone wants me to make an instructable on any of the flies pictured, just describe it.
