Introduction: DIY Bike Mobile Holder

About: I build products which solve real world problems.

Ever wanted to build your own bicycle smartphone holder? Here's something you can try and it will not cost too much!

Step 1: What Do You Need?

Obtain a cheap cell phone holder for cars. The kind that you simply place on your dash using double adhesive tapes work best.Choose a holder that has pivot points or one that can rotate in all directions.

+ A phone that fits in

Step 2: Preparing the Mount

Prepare the mount. A broken shifter lever is perfect for this project. You may be able to buy one cheaply from a bike repair shop.Use a screwdriver to disassemble the shifter lever. Discard everything but the mount. If there are any protruding parts, remove them. Alternatively, disassemble the mount of your bell or horn and just utilize the mount.

Use a grinder to remove any sharp parts.

Step 3: Drilling the Blocks

Mark the center of the base of both the mount and holder and then carefully drill the centers using a 1/4 drill bit.

Step 4: Screwing Everything Up

Obtain a regular bolt and nut which you will use to combine the cell phone holder to the mount. Combine the holder and the mount by screwing them together. Place it on the steering for a test fit.

Now, obtain another set of bolt and nuts and install the mount to the steering.

Step 5: Fixing the Smartphone

Place your smartphone in the mount and try to place call or simply activate your hands-free to call someone.

Congrats! You've made your own Smartphone holder for your bike!
