DIY Child Safety Locks That Actually Work!

Child safety locks at the store are over priced and useless. Either your child discovers immediately how to bypass it or they just plain don't work . Everyone has a picture hanging kit laying around and probably a lot of these little hangers you otherwise wouldn't use ! Let me tell you I am the very proud father of 3 highly intelligent children that figure out everything I do the first time they see me do it and they can't open these only the oldest can at 4 years old now . They know how they work but little fingers can't turn them .

Step 1: Drill Pilot Hole

Choose a spot to drill out a small hole right next to the corner of the cabinet or the center of the drawer.

Step 2: Child Proof !

Screw the hook, the color of your choice, into the hole and Voilà! You now have a very simple yet extremely effective child lock for you cabinets and drawers to keep little ones safe and saving a lot of money in the process . A simple counter clockwise turn opens the lock and a clockwise twist locks it .
