DIY Fiber Optic Lighting Cable

This video is an introduction to future videos on how to make your own optical fiber cable for indoor lighting applications. I imagine it could be used for short data transfers but will not say for sure.

I am working on getting the perfect filling for this.
You could do with vaccing the resin BEFORE you suck it in, the way you have it, microbubbles will form as you put the stuff under vac with the syringe.
Thanks for sharing, Dan! <br>One of my first cars used fiber optics to illuminate the instrument cluster and knobs. It was a 1977 Datsun (now Nissan) B-210. It had a single bulb inside a small, black metal container the size of a 35mm film can that fed light to all the cluster. It blew my mind when I found that my 1977 car used fiber optics.
neat idea, would love to see this in step by step form!
