Picture of DIY Granite Cleaner

This granite cleaner is one of the best DIY cleaners I have found. We have granite counters and it cleans them very well. I also use it to clean many of my kitchen appliances and tools (hand blender, toaster, etc.)

1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol

3 drops of Dawn or other dish soap

5-10 drops essential oil

Supplies & Tools:

16 oz spray bottle

Step 1: Pour Rubbing Alcohol Into Spray Bottle

Step 2: Add Remaining Ingredients

Add the dish soap, essential oil and fill up the rest of the bottle with water. Give it a nice shake and then it's ready to use.

I didn't know that dish soap erodes granite. I have black granite in my kitchen and this leaves an amazing shine with no cloudy film. Thank you

Glad you like it!

Never put dish soap on your granite, it erodes the surface over time.

Correct, however, the amount of dish soap is too small to erode the surface, plus the dish soap is not directly applied to the granite counter tops. Its diluted with the rubbing alcohol and water. Feel free to omit it if you would like. It's the rubbing alcohol that does most of the work anyways.
