Introduction: DIY: HOW TO MAKE a CHAIR BOW

This beautiful chair bow will make any chair look elegant. It’s easy to make, and you only need a few materials;

4 in Wired Burlap in Natural color

4 in Ivory Lace Ribbon

Hot Glue Gun with glue sticks

Step 1: Cut the Burlap and Lace to Legnth

Most Burlap comes in 10 yd rolls. I cut off about 3 yds for each bow. (Length may vary depending on the chair back width.)

Most Lace Ribbon comes in 10 yd rolls. I cut off 3 yds to match the length of the burlap.

Step 2: Glue the Burlap & Lace Together

Lay the burlap ribbon out on a flat surface. Starting at one end, hot glue the Lace ribbon on to the burlap ribbon. I spot glued the ribbon about every 6 inches or so. Be careful not to let the lace bunch up. It should be flat against the burlap.

Step 3: Tie the Bow Around the Chair

Once the glue is set, you can begin the bow ( You may want someone to hold the ribbon securely while you tie the bow). Wrap the ribbon around the chair at the height you want the bow to be. Tie a single knot and then make two loops with the ribbon holding one loop in each hand. Take the loop in the right hand and cross it around the loop in the left hand clockwise and then bring it through the back to make the bow. You will have to size the bow to your liking depending on the size of the chair back. You will want the bow to be centered evenly with the back of the chair.

Step 4: Trim the Ends to Length

Once the bow is complete, you can trim the ribbon streamers that hang down to a desired length.
