Introduction: DIY: Heated Hat

'Twas the night before Christmas, with fire on the log, your mom tells you to go buy some eggnog! With a quick yes and goodbye, you set out side but you lose a year before even making it to your ride.

Well no more, this instructable is quick and easy and can be made in advance.

Step 1: Supplies

1.Calcium chloride (can by bought as ice melt at any store) DO NOT GET THIS IN ANY THING!!!!!
2.Duct tape
3.Plastic bread bag
4.Water
5.Hat
6.Hair dryer (optional)

Step 2: Step 1

1. I would suggest putting the bag on your head like a hat and stretching it out. (don't let your mom see you do this. BAD!)
2.Then take it off your head and fold it over so there is a lip about the size of your ear.
3. Take the mighty duct tape roll and seal off  that ear size pocket except for about 3 inches  that you will leave open.
4. now take the calcium chloride and put about 2 or 3 table spoons into that 3 inch gap.

Step 3:

Now take the about 1/2 a cup of water.

Step 4:

pour enough water in with the chloride to completely submerge it plus a  little extra.
there is a chemical reaction between the calcium chloride and the water that'll make it heat up. Don't worry, it doesn't create a gas

Step 5:

Now completely seal off the gap with somemore duct tape, and if you want to, you can take the hair drier and  almost melt the plastic to completely seal it. (PLEASE seale it all the way! especially if you have a mom!!)

Step 6:

Now it's simple; just put it on your head, and pull your ordinary hat over it! (the picture shows it being tight, but don't worry, you just have to make it a little larger.)

Thanks!
Merry Christmas and Happy instructing!
