DIY Hookah Hose

DIY Hookah Hose
This is a super easy mod for a Hookah Hose.

If your not new to Hookah, you know your hoses will give out, rust, and need replacing. You can pop another $10-$24 for a hose, or you can salvage parts from your hose to make a new one. Your new hose will be 100% washable, plus you'll have the ability to watch the smoke get drawn thru the hose (kool side effect).

It's not as simple as a splitter... more like a splitter and a one-way valve for each hose, so you don't end up sucking air in from the other hose...

you should watch out cause the heat of the smoke or whatveer could cause plastic fumes to release into your sweet sweet lungs.
Jun 11, 2009. 2:42 AMXkidXhavocX says:
the smoke goes through a water bubbler to cool the smoke down for a softer hit... so no plastic fumes... maybe just a little plastic taste for the first few uses....

the 'smoke' from the hooka is room temperature by the time it hits the hose. Its more of a vaporizer system anyways. The charcoal heats the molasses tobacco and causes it to vaporize. If it gets hot enough to burn the tobacco, the taste is terrible and you move the coal or break it in half.

A hooka is kinda like a bong with hoses.

if you've tried more then one hose for extended periods of time, you'll know that the two ingredients that make you miss the full flavor are the hose and the type of charcoal a good hose has a short break in period, this one will NEVER break in the best ones are the ones made with some cardboard in their mix, but you can't wash them

"food-safe" hose can still be gross and plastickey. The best hose I've seen was beer line hose from a homebrew shop. It's around the same price as hardware store hose, too.
