Introduction: DIY Minion Goggles

About: I enjoy making projects or doing random things whenever I can. However, it is really hard to do this because of this thing called "school". Weird right?

This Instuctable will show you how to make cheap easy Despicable Me minion goggles.

The reason I made these was for minion Monday, one of our school spirit  days this week. The thing is I was about one of three people that actually dressed up that day...

Anyway, hope you like it!

Step 1: Gathering Stuff Needed

Supplies needed:

-silver spray paint
-some round thing to trace on the wood. like a cup, can, or you could just free-hand it if you need to
-plastic box to cut circles out of
- pencil
-wood (about a 1/2 inch thick).
-eight screws that you can cut the tops off of
-a cheap belt or elastic
-hot glue
-painters tape
-staples

Tools needed:

-bolt cutters
-sander(s)
-band saw (or something to cut the wood with).
-things to cut the box with
-hot glue gun
-stapler
-screwdriver

Step 2: Make the Wood Circles

Draw out the circles on the wood. I traced it with the blue cup in the picture and wrote my measurements in the picture so you could just copy that (ignore the outer circle).

Now cut them with the band saw (WARNING you may not want to use this though, because it is hard to control a band saw).

Cut the inside circle by cutting the first circle in half. You will end up with to half circles. -Do this four times.

Step 3: Cut the Plastic Circles

You can probably tell that I am not meant for cutting circles out of plastic... But I did get two pretty good circles out of this though.

First you need to trace them with the same thing you used to trace the wood with.

Then cut them with whatever you can use.

CAREFUL! I was very lucky and only got a small cut on my hand when doing this.

If the circles are a bit to big or oddly shaped it is okay you will sand it later.

Step 4: Glue It All Together

Find the parts that fit together the best.
Glue all of these together.

Step 5: Sand Them

Sand the inside and out, to to make the goggles look much more smooth.
When doing the inside be careful, because it could scratch the plastic.

Step 6: More Cutting Gluing and Painting

Cut angles on the sides of the circles that would fit on your face.

Glue the circles together.

Put painters tape on plastic that faces out, not the plastic that faces in towards your face.

Spray paint the front. Not the back, you should not have that paint touching you.

Step 7: Attach Belt or Elastic

Measure the belt or elastic around your head (make sure it is stretched a little so it stays on).

Attach the belt or elastic to the goggles with the stapler.

Cut to length.

Step 8: Take the Tape Off/Put Some on It/You Could Just Be Done Now

Put some duct tape on where your nose touches.

If you want to stop now all you need to do is take the painters tape off and you're done!

Step 9: Attach Screw Heads

Cut the screw heads off.

Screw four small holes in each circle.

Hot glue the heads in the holes.

Step 10: Done!

You're done!

Hope you enjoyed!
