Today I decided to customize a shoe for a friend of mine. The shoe i created is kinda a mix between two shoe DIY tutorials I saw lately, and I thought why not just try it out myself. I made a mix between a Missoni Shoe and a basic saddle shoe. I saw both of these shoes on separate blogs, and I really wanted to try out and put both of the shoes together, so a Missoni Saddle shoe, if it is called like that. Hope you enjoy the DIY and can kinda follow it.

Step 1: Preparation of Project

The first Step is to sort all of your materials for the
whole process. The materials you need are:

- A white canvas lace-up shoe

- Black sharpie marker

- Black paint

- 2 Paint brushes

- Pencil

- Ruler

- Paper(Cardboard is advised)

Step 2: Starting the Painting Process.

So, the first step is to take out the laces, as they only bother the painting process and it makes it easier without them. Then, use your black sharpie marker to first color out around the holes for the laces, as this is the part which is the hardest to paint. That’s also the reason why the laces had to go off first

Step 3: Finishing the Saddle Part.

After you finished drawing around all of the holes, you can already

start using the paint on the shoe. You maybe want to put some tape at the edge of the upper part first, to make sure that nothing goes onto the lower part, because otherwise it would not look as clean of a cut as it should.

Make sure that you leave it at a calm place for a couple of hours, so it can fully dry. Otherwise you could accidentally touch the wet paint, and then you have a really ugly spot on your wonderful shoe.

Step 4: Creating the Mizzoni Pattern..

After you put the paint on the shoe, you can already start the Mizzoni part of the shoe. Therefore, use a paper (a harder paper would be advisable) and cut out a zigzag pattern. Then, use this and put it onto the shoe and draw the zigzag line with a pencil, as pen would later show. Do this throughout the whole lower part of the sneaker, until the part you wish to stop.

Then, draw over the pencil traces with a small-tipped black marker to set the different lines, and then you can already start the process of painting in the shoe, Mizzoni style. Now, you should use the black paint and carefully color in every second area, so behind every second line. Do this until the end, so you will have a white-black pattern.

You can also use another paint to color in the other parts, but I thought that the black and white combination would look very nice, especially since the saddle part of the shoe is also black.
