Executive Summary: Keep your hands clean and upgrade the efficiency of your rocket stove with this DIY Double Walled cook pot inspired by the StoveTec SuperPot. This video shows you how to make your own cheaply.

Look around the internet and you'll see rocket stove after rocket stove that has neglected to include a pot skirt to achieve that efficiency that made rocket stoves famous. Luckily the bright folks at StoveTec came up with a solution. It's a double walled pot that sits on a rocket stoves and increases heat transfer. Check it out on their website: https://stovetecstore.net/product/stovetec-super-...

This Instructable will show you how to make your own with scrap materials. Not only will it make your stove more efficient but it will also keeps your hands cleaner as only the inner wall becomes charred.

Full Disclosure: I'm not affiliated with StoveTec in anyway, I'm just a fan of their great ideas.

Step 2: Follow Video Instructions

I tried my hand at making a how-to video with iMovie. Hopefully it's clear and easy to follow. Let me know how I did in the comments below.

Step 3: Key Point

Measurements will vary depending on your pot selection. However, the key is to ensure that there is at least 1/2" of clearance under the smaller pot for heat and smoke to travel. Otherwise your super pot with snuff out the fire.

Great Idea. I'll make one for my scout group. I'll mod your design slightly and just cut out the required size pan hole in the bottom of the pan and skip all that tab bending. If required I'll cut the top off it to get it the right height. Thanks for the idea.

What a great use for it... I've always thought that rocket stoves could work well for scouting. We used the pot recently on our rocket stove chuckwagon and it worked splendidly. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ3FH7UPYjY) The Chuckwagon is seen here with a skillet but you get the idea. PLEASE POST PICS to show how it turns out with YOUR MODS! Thanks for the feedback.
