Step 4: show that hot glue gun some lovin...

now you need to take everything you have in front of you and smother it in hot glue.... not really... but feel free to make it messy if you need too since you wont ever see the mess again. or atleast until you change the batteries...

i covered the back of the leds in hot glue so if i go threw a puddle of water and it somehow gets wet it wont short out the circuit... i suggest you do the same... hot glue the switch in if theres any wiggle room.

batteries are tricky. first i hot glues the wires to the correct side of each battery. then i taped the batteries together then i hot glued two little pieces of foam to one side to ensure pressure against both batteries...

There is a company that is doing this. And offers a bit more lighting and safety.

Its called Ekick. This is there website http://www.ekicktech.com its a bit stronger material.

nice fish
this is great!
im planning on adding the blue l.e.d Car light strips onto my board.
Wow nice. Thanx dude.
A company just marketed these. Sow it on SF
Yeah I just started the company. Its called Light Riser. Check it out at www.lightriser.com
realy nice idea for the back. i saw some plans for front lights on silverfish that looked pretty impresive though
i do believe this is a fenominal idea and wish do do this on my board, but why not just carry a flashlight
I would personally try to put another pair of 1/8" riser pads underneath these, to protect from water and dirt coming in through the trucks and into the risers.
I usually just take a 10mm diffused LED with the battery. Tape them together and like, hot glue it onto my board before going out for a night run.
I tried this once, but for another reason. Underglow. Yeah, lame. But I have old longboards and tons of skatboard stuff since I've been skating for a long time and longboarding is my life. I was bored and put blue LEDS inside the riser. Scrapped it because I cruise too much and the cracks in roads really screwed it up. It was the cheapest I could build, anyway.
What Kind of board do you have?? oh and BTW if you want to buy real ones they are called sunrisers. nice instructable!!!!
its a gokiburi magic bus. 55" really just a cruiser... good for bombing though... it makes me want to buy a super carving board... like a landyachtz evo or something... and mine is real... not store bought but most certainly real. thanks!
haha yeah i really want the evo
same. I have the loaded vanguard right now. that and a homemade mini for g turns and shuv-its and stuff
I FINALLY ORDERED MY EVO!!!!!!! what kind of setup do u have on the loaded???
gullwing chargers and abec11 strikers for sliding. Whats your setup on the evo?
-evo 2008 green tree deck -bear grizzlys -retro big-zigs (80a) -abec 7 bearings how does your board handle DH?
thats an amazing setup. It does ok on downhill going up to 35 (or at least thats the fastest I've gone on it so far.) I want to get an evo for downhill though, I got to try one a while ago at a downhillbillies slalom jam. It had the 96 millimeter flywheels, it was amazing
haha wow that must look cool when you're skateboarding. i thougt they were meant to be lights that light up the gorund under the board kinda like the once on racecars wiht lights under 'em ahah -_- ...nvm
nice u can buy these but there well expensive i might try it cheres
much better than this.
thanks, that one seems a little overkill... id be scared to ride it for fear of messin it up...
How could you ride that board without destroying it? It's just ridiculous.
just got it for xmas... its cold... i havent ridden it much, gokiburi 55" btw... do you "destroy" your boards just by riding them???
Yeah I ride hard. I'm not much into "cruising".
Awesome job. Looks pretty easy, should add in some resistors in the spaces that are available in the riser. This is probably possible with normal skateboarding risers, I might try it out, this is really cool. :-)
