DIY wooden $5 iPad Dock / Stand

Step 3Make two 27deg cuts

Make two 27deg cuts
From the side of your block where you cut the 10mm hole, on the short side measure off 17mm and 30mm. This is where you make cuts at 27deg., the place where your beloved iPad will sit. Go 15mm deep and clean it out well.

You can do this the hard way and use a handsaw, or go the easy way and use an adjustable table saw.

Yikes!!! No offense intended, and I realize it's for illustration, but this picture gives me the willies just looking at it!

I value my fingers very highly and hate working with short lengths of wood like this that get my digits so close to a spinning blade.

I do plan to make one of these, but I think I'll start with a longer piece of wood, use the table saw's cross slide while cutting the slot and then cut it to length.

Great instructable!!
