Sometimes you just want the taste of hot cocoa, but you can't (or won't) consume dairy and/or chocolate. This recipe is a pretty good substitute - warming and delicious.

Ingredients:
  • 1.5 tbsp raw carob powder
  • 1 mug full of milk-like substance (soy milk, almond milk, etc.)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp honey (optional - the carob is pretty sweet on its own)
Simply mix all the ingredients together and stir over low heat on the stove until hot, but not boiling. Pour into a mug and enjoy!

Variations can include:
- a dash or two of cinnamon
- a dash of cayenne pepper

Enjoy, and be sure to tell me how you like it!
