- Arduino Uno R3 board
- Full-size breadboard
- USB Cable
- 3d Printed Dalek
- 3d Printed Stand for rotating Dalek
- Servo Motor
- Red Led
- A computer with Autodesk Inventor or Solidworks and Arduino IDE software
- 3D Printer
Step 1: 3D Print Dalek and Stand
Create and 3D Print the Dalek and an accompanying stand.
Basic dalek designs can be found on many websites such as thingyverse.
My dalek was created on the Makerbot Replicator 2.
My version of the dalek was created with a hole straight through it for the wiring for the stand and the led.
Step 2: Arduino Program
My program for the project included a basic rotation back and forth 180 degrees and blinking to happen simultaneously.
Make sure you adjust the rotation to the specifics of your part because the careful nature of the 3D printed dalek only allows it to move at slow intervals. The slow interval makes sure that the smaller pieces such as the Eye socket and plunger arm don't get damaged in the process.
Step 3: Wiring the System
In the three included videos you can see the servo diagram and the led and how they come together for the completed project.
Step 4: Final Assembly
In the final step
Gather all the materials and place the arduino and the breadboard in the box and create holes for the stand and the wiring to pass through. Then put the wiring through the dalek and make sure it has full functionality. The video attached show the functionality of the dalek and more information as to how it works and its design.
