Dark milk jello.

Dark milk jello.
We love jello, but wish there was something between the kid stuff and Panna cotta. (Heavy cream is extremely expensive now.) So we came up with a medium ground that keeps every one happy, but now we add a twist with the chocolate.. A couple of black berries never hurts either.

Step 1What's needed:

What\
1 quart whole milk. (evaporated milk, whipping cream, half-n-half, or whatever can be substituted).
1/2 cup sugar (brown sugar gives a different taste).
2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin. (Most grocery stores carry it, but sometimes try to hide it)
2 heaping tablespoons unsweetened chocolate.
3 teaspoons warm water to bloom gelatin.
Vanilla extract (to taste) (equivalent of 1/2 half vanilla bean)

Tools:
Stove
2 quart saucepan
Teaspoon
Heatproof stirring spoon.
Small bowl to bloom gelatin.
Heatproof bowl large enough to hold jello mixture. (sometimes I just put the saucepan in the fridge to save washing items.)
Refrigerator
Optional: Instant thermometer
