Introduction: Decorative Seaglass Vase and Secret Compartment

Here you will learn how to make a good-looking vase full of seaglass, with a secret compartment on the inside! This not only saves seaglass, but also offers some secret storage.

Step 1: Materials

You will need:
1 large vase
1 mason jar, which can fit inside the vase
a lot of seaglass, enough to fill the volume of the vase displaced by the jar

Step 2: The Foundation

Pour a handful of seaglass into the bottom of the vase. Shake it a little bit, and then place the mason jar on top of the seaglass. The mason jar's axis of rotational symmetry should align with that of the vase (i.e., the jar should be centered), and the top of the jar should be at the same height as the top of the vase, approximately.

Step 3: Filling the Vase

Now, carefully pour seaglass in between the jar and the vase, until the vase is filled to the brim, about where the lid of mason jar is. At this point, you should not be able to see the jar very easily by looking at the side of the vase.

Step 4: Close It Up!

Now, store the treasures in the jar, and cover the top of it with seaglass.

Step 5: Be Secretive

Now, put the top on the vase, and place it somewhere in plain view. No one will suspect that there's treasure hidden in there!
