Introduction: Develop a Cheap Cordless Screw Driver to Operate As Expensive Drill
Today we will develop a cheap cordless screw driver to operate as expensive drill.
I will change the battery from NI-CD into Li-ion , And i will fix the broken key.
In order to understand how we will work ... There are three basic steps we will work.
In order to make the motor work in two way I will use a DPDT key.
First , I will use a small DPDT switch to suite the size of the drill.
second ,I will change the three NI-CD batteries with one Li-ion battery.I ill use Li-ion battery charger.
Third I will fix the broken key
Step 1: Work Steps
I will unplug all welding parts of the drill from inside.
We will leave the LED light as it is
Nickel cadmium batteries can be recharged and operated in many devices.
Important Notes When Soldering Lithium Ion Batteries.
The temperature of the soldering iron should be high.
Welding should be done quickly.
When welding one of the electrodes, wait until it cools before welding the other electrode.
Heating the battery at a high temperature may damage the battery.
The adapter for that drill rated 300mA at 6V,That adapter is not suitable to work with lithium ion battery.
I used the mobile adaptor to charge the battery.
start Welding with battery charger board..
From the out of the board i connected three red wires , one to the battery , the second to the switch , and the third wire to the LED.
From the out of the board i connected three black wires , one to the battery , the second to the switch , and the third wire to the LED.
I solder the two brown wires from the switch to the motor wires. and isolate the welding.
The red LED on the board indicate: charging
The green LED on the board indicate: charging complete.
I made a hole on the body to indicate charging process.
