Get the materials you will need:

Matte (not shiny) paint-1 base color, 3 stencil colors(you can use as many as you like, i used 3). I used Rust-oleum paints: tan, black, brown, and green.

Masking/painting tape

a method for hanging the objects to be painted

paper

exacto knife

rubber glove

optional: Minwax Fast drying polyurethane for the finish

Could you use enamel paints instead of spray paint? If so, any recommended brands (in the UK)?

Should you prime before you paint the base coat? Is there any clear coat that is NOT glossy around? How many coats per color did you use and how many cans or each?

To remove the gloss you could try giving it a rub down with a wet piece of scotch bright.
