Introduction: Disco Ball Halloween Costume

I had quite a few old DVDs and CDs laying around and thought that I could easily make a costume from them.  It was rather easy to do and it looks like I might win the contest at work.  It originally started out to be a suit of plate male armor, but as I was building it, my wife said that I looked like a disco ball, so I went with it!

Step 1: Materials

The materials for this costume are old CDs/DVDs, a hot glue gun, the clothes where the DVDs will be glued and a safe place to work.

Step 2:

Lay the clothing flat, and cut out the collar if necessary.

Step 3: Glue

Start gluing.  I put two big drops on each CD.  I placed the ones on the outside edge first and worked my way to the middle, then up to the next row.   Keep in mind where you will bend, and don't glue a CD there.

Step 4: Add a Clasp

I chose to close up the hole for the collar a bit.  I had webbing from some old sandals laying around, so I glued that underneath.  I put a CD between the layers to keep from gluing them together.  After it cooled a bit, but before it was set, I swapped out the gooey CD for a clean one.

Step 5: Be the Disco Ball

Enter your Zen state and be the Disco Ball.
