Introduction: Dishes-free(ish) Mexican French Toast
The goal of this ible is to show you how to use that left over bit at the bottom of your salsa jar to make a delicious and quick meal.
A bit of history: French toast is actually called "pain perdu" in French, or "lost bread". It is meant to use up old stale bread, a last ditch effort to eat it before it is too far gone. This inspired me to use those last little bits of salsa in a jar that I can never reach and an old croissant to make this recipe.

Step 1: Ingredients
You will need:
- Salsa (this is a great way to get rid of those leftover bits in the bottom of the jar
- One egg
- A croissant (or english muffin or toast even!)
- A pan or panini press (amazing kitchen multi-tool fyi; great BBQ substitute for the winter).
Step 2: Use Up That Salsa!
Crack your egg into the salsa container and give it a good shake.
Step 3: Add to the Bread
If you pour it slowly on the bread, it should work, but it can easily spill. You may also want to consider letting it soak up in a shallow bowl. I just poured it on and lost maybe 1/8th of my egg to the grill.
Step 4: Grill and Eat
Before closing it up, you can throw in some cheese.
