Do it all Door Hangers

Do it all Door Hangers
I'm sort of a "list" person... helps me keep my brain strait (well as close to that as possible).

Problem is:
  • Some list things are the same everyday.
  • Some list things change everyday.
  • I forget my lists on the way out the door. (especially when grocery shopping)
  • I don't have a fancy dancy phone to keep track of it all for me.

So, check out my new fangled invention!!  (I KNOW this one is going to make me rich)..

It's a door hanger, that can do sooooooo much more :-)

Step 1Gather Your Supplies

Gather Your Supplies
Luckly most of these seem to be on hand at home... or in the office (NO... I am so NOT advocating steeling office supplies, because that would be wrong!).

You'll need:
  • 1 old folder or piece of cardboard 3.5 x 13 inches (think the tops of amazon boxes)
  • 1 small stack of post it notes
  • Sharpie(s)
  • Pen
  • Box cutter, x-acto knife, or scissors.
  • Mug, or cup who's top is about 2.5 inches in diameter.
(if your mug is bigger, make your door hanger wider)
  • ruler
  • tape (I ended up using double sided tape)
If you're feeling like an artist... you can add the following to the list:
  • white glue
  • piece of sand paper
  • paints
  • random paper from the recycle bin

I have ADD (yes, really - diagnosed at 47) and my mind is a relentless idea machine, the right brain spewing them out before the left brain can edit them. I seem to get my best ideas when I'm in the bathroom, where I never have any paper (other than the obvious) or pen. This project was just the ticket! I scavenged some folders left behind after a meeting and bought some cheap long memo pads (like the kind made for shopping lists). I reinforced the edges of the hanger with "fashion" duct tape and glued the memo pad to the centre. NOTE: glue the pad to the bare cardboard NOT the duct tape - glue doesn't stick to it. I attached a pen with yarn and a small binder clip and hung it on the bathroom door. Now when I get all those brilliant ideas while sitting on the bog, I can write them down, tear off the sheet and store it in the pocket on the back! I am going to make one for every doorknob in my apartment. Thanks for the great instructible!

Nice way to get organized (I don't have a fancy phone either).

Yes, the two idea would work together well!
