Introduction: Doc Brown Shades for Your Gatto

Yes, that is a stuffed koala. My cat wasn't currently available for a photo shoot!

Step 1: Materials

  • Duct tape (if you have silver, you can skip a step :)
    • Cardboard
    • Foil
    • Normal Scotch Tape
    • Something to draw with
    • Needle/tack/pointy thing

Step 2: The Measurements

To find the proper measurements of your cat's face, (measurement 1) measure the front of their head and (measurement 2) from their eyes to the back of their ears (I don't have a cat, so I'm showing you with Felix). Now, multiply the second measurement by two, then add that product to the first measurement and draw that line on cardboard. Make sure you know where your two second measurements are by measuring from either end of the line and drawing a mark.

Step 3: The Shades

Where you marked your two second measurements are the arms that go over your cats ears. Draw the rest of the pattern below the line, cut out, attach a strip of wire to the top of the glasses, and cover in duct tape. Now wrap in foil, secure with scotch tape, and poke a hole in the middle of each lens part with a needle (this allows you (or your cat) to see without cutting large holes in the glasses and ruining the look). Fit around cat's head. These Doc Brown shades can also easily be adapted to fit on anything and anyone, not just your cat!

Nice shades. Another thing that you can try is aluminum tape. It is really sturdy and will hold up to a lot of use.

    Thanks, I'll look into that!
