Dollar Bill Origami Heart

Dollar Bill Origami Heart
I'm sure that you have probably seen this somewhere on the internet, but I felt that Instructables needed one. Well anyways, its a pretty cool way to give someone money. It only takes about 5 or so minutes to make, and its awesome.

Here is a video: Not very exiting, but it gets the job done.

I know this may be hard for some people (especially me), but you need to find a spare dollar that you can fold up. Try to find one that is pretty crisp and new.

 Great Instructable!

As you sure know, we are using euros € here in Europe. So that means that we do have very little dollar bills here. I still wanted to do this so I took a 10€ bill and started doing it. Your steps where a bit hard to understand for me but when I looked at the following picture I did understand. The 10cent did fit perfectly in to the heart too!

Just a note (hah!), for currencies like New Zealand (& Australia too I think) it is incredibly hard to get it to hold its shape like a US/UK note or paper as they are printed on polymer, not paper.

Bummer that we don't have pound notes in the UK anymore...I did find a Guernsey pound note and that came out really well. £5 notes worked ok, but are a bit fat....I'll keep practising on that one....My friend made one from a cigarette paper....damn showoff!

I just did a couple test folds with an Aussie $20... Folds like a CHARM. Don't be intimidated by the polymer. It IS a little poufier. I'd like to finish it, but it's rent money. ;)
Maybe next month. :)

I made one of these for the tooth fairy to leave under my 6 year old son's pillow tonight. He just lost his 2nd tooth. He's got 18 more teeth to lose and my younger son still has 20 to go, so I'll be an origami pro in a few years! (hopefully)

Really well done and very easy to follow. I'm definitely putting these in the offering plate at church, can't wait to see their faces!
Thinking of hiding ten of these around the house with clues to the location of the next one on the inside for my niece's tenth birthday.

AWWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEESOMMMMMEEEEE Thanks for the instructable. helped me make my own. Why did u choose to make one out of a 2$ bill, not a 1$ one? But still, a nice instructable, thanks again.

When I was a little kid, my mom would go to the bank and get lots of 2 dollar bills for my allowance. After a while she switched to bigger denominations as I got older, and slowly the memories of those bills faded...

Until I stumbled onto your instructable. So now, not only do I have a bunch of awesome hearts lying around my desk (and they are awesome in so many ways), I also have a bunch of wonderful memories of my childhood rushing back into my head. So, thanks, you basically made my month.

Thank you so much, this is really cool.  I used a Mexican 100 peso bill, because it is red and pink, I thought it looked nice.  The size is a little different but it didn't seem to make much of a difference.  Thanks again.

that's a good looking heart!  I think next video you make slow down, you go too fast and after each step try to hold it closer to the camera so we can see what you did.  I had to pause it 5x until I got the hang of it.  Now I am making a bunch for Valentine's Day cards.
