Some songs require to have two foot pedals because the drummer is using a double bass drum. There is a simple attachment that will allow you to have the ability.
Just a note: I have never tried Rock Band drums so I don't know the connection area.

1 Audio splitter from Radio Shack. You should find this pretty easy for $2. This is the main thing you need. This is what makes 2 people with their own headphones listen from the same audio output.

This method does not work as expected. You can't have both pedals down at the same time. You really need the adapter that is sold for this purpose or make a relay pulse circuit (not sure if that is the actual name).

That is true. Guitar Hero and Rockband can only register 1 for each time you hit a pad. Like hitting the snare with both the sticks at the same time may sometimes register as 2 hits on the snare. The main purpose for instructable is to have two foot pedals instead on one. Used for songs like Through the Fire and the Flames.
