Pulled pork sandwiches are a staple of southern food, and what can make this classic even better? Dr Pepper, of course! This is a really easy recipe for this this yummy favorite. Step 1: Ingredients

  • Pork Shoulder
  • Dr Pepper
  • BBQ Sauce
  • White Onion
  • Garlic Powder
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Fresh Garlic
  • Crushed Red Pepper

Step 2: Directions

  1. Add the onions to your slow cooker on high heat.
  2. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and garlic powder on both sides.
  3. Add the 2 cloves of diced fresh garlic to the slow cooker.
  4. Add the meat to the slow cooker.
  5. Pour in 16oz of Dr Pepper.
  6. Cook for 3-4 hours.
  7. Drain off 3/4 of the juice.
  8. Shred the pork.
  9. Add a cup of BBQ Sauce and 1tsp of Crushed Red Pepper.
  10. Cook for another 30 mins.

Step 3: Enjoy!

Serve on a bun and top with onion and pickles or your favorite condiments!
