Drain Clearing Tool

Drain Clearing Tool
An entire instructable in a single image...

If our kitchen sink gets blocked, the best thing to do is to remove the u-bend and dig out the obstruction.

I can't do that with the shower drain, though. because it's under the shower tray.

Fortunately, the nature of the blockage is a lot more predictable in the shower, especially when family members have long hair.

I needed to clear the drain (again) yesterday, but rather than muck about with knitting needles and long-nosed pliers, I quickly created this little fishing hook from a large paper-clip (although any stiff wire would have done the job).

It was so quick, in fact, that it took a lot less time to make and use the tool that it did to write up this Instructable.

Such is life.

I really did expect a picture of this with some black, drippy "skeg" hanging off of it... Can you recreate that?
