Introduction: Draw an Eye

Picture of Draw an Eye

Drawing eyes is simple and useful :)

Step 1: Step One

Picture of Step One

Make the basic shape. Shapes may vary according to ethnicity or mood.

Step 2: Step 2

Picture of Step 2

Give it a pupil. I usually "take out" a little chunk of the pupil to make the illusion of a glint of light reflecting from it. Pupil size may vary. Experiment. Colour the pupil black or shade it in.
Add another small line beside the bottom lid. This step is hard to explain. Refer to the picture.

Step 3: Step 3

Add lashes. Dont be too excessive. I was a little bit too excessive on the bottom lid lashes. The top naturally has more. Experiment with length/ amount of eyelashes.
Add an eyelid above the eyelashes to add depth.

Step 4: Step 4

Picture of Step 4

Add definition to the eyeball. Let your pencil scribble a bit at the edges of the iris. (Refer to pictures.) then lightly scribble in the middle of the iris between the pupil and the edge of the iris.
Shade lightly under the top lid, even across the white of the eye.

Make your eye lighter or darker if you'd like. Use your finger for smudging.
